Change of personal trainers stirs dispute between gym goers and club
A CHANGE of personal trainers has led to a dispute between gym goers and a fitness club in the city’s Hongkou District.
Members of the Kaihong branch of Tera Wellness on Sichuan Road demanded a refund in March after their personal trainers were abruptly replaced.
Tailored fitness plans were disrupted and many members were not satisfied with the new instructors, a member surnamed Fan said.
But members claim they were charged an extra 25 percent management fee to terminate their contracts.
Some 85 members reportedly asked for a refund, with more than 650,000 yuan (US$104,839) involved.
Tera Wellness said four coaches were replaced for breaking regulations, but the 25 percent charge was suggested by members wanting a quick refund.
