Exhibition features Soong’s life
AN exhibition on one of modern China’s principal figures — Soong Ching-ling — opened yesterday and will run until the end of this year.
Soong was vice chairman of the People’s Republic of China and wife of Dr Sun Yat-sen, the man chiefly responsible for overthrowing the feudal Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
The exhibition, featuring Soong’s personal belongings, documents, letters to staff and gifts to their employees’ children, aims to show an unusual side of Soong’s daily life.
The exhibits are selected from donations from Zhou Hekang, a former carer of Soong who took care of her residence in Shanghai.
The exhibition is held in Shanghai Museum of Sun Yat-sen’s former residence on 7 Xiangshan Road in Huangpu District. Admission is free.
