Extra trains to Guangdong

FOUR sleeper trains linking Shanghai with Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province will be put into service from January 1 to March 15 next year to meet the huge travel demand before and after the Spring Festival, the railway operator announced yesterday. Train numbers D905 and D907 will depart from the Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station at 8:08pm and 8:14pm, and reach Shenzhen in the morning. The total travel time will be 11 hours. The return trains will leave at around 8pm. D931/4 and D935/8 leave Shanghai around 8pm and arrive in Guangzhou at 7:08am and 7:18am the next day. The return journey will start around 7:30pm. Ticket price for berths ranges from 700 yuan (US$113) to 1,350 yuan. Tickets will be available 30 days in advance, with discounts being offered for early birds.
