NINETEEN people were recently blacklisted for selling fake medical, beauty and health products and will be banned from the industry for 10 years, the city’s food and drug watchdog said yesterday.
In one such case, a man was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 500,000 yuan (US$73,066) by Xuhui People’s Court for selling 18 types of fake drugs, according to the Shanghai Food and Drug Administration.
