FDA scandal talk

SHANGHAI Food and Drug Administration officials yesterday told five food companies involved in the tainted meat scandal that they must destroy substandard products once they spot them. During a talk with representatives from McDonald’s, Yum!, Papa John’s, Burger King and Dicos, FDA Director Yan Zuqiang told them to adhere to their corporate responsibility by being proactive in destroying tainted products and in responding to public concerns. The companies should also conduct a thorough inspection of all their suppliers and cooperate in the FDA and police investigation into the scandal, said Yan.
