AN oil production factory owner in Songjiang District has been detained for illegally burying dangerous chemical wastes and polluting the environment. Songjiang District Environmental Protection Bureau received complaints in June that residents in Yexie Town had been bothered by odors allegedly discharged by the factory. Police detained the factory owner, surnamed Hong, for illegally dumping waste.
