Fake tickets sold to pay for losses
A man who made and sold fake tickets to 38 Disney visitors, ripping them off more than 68,000 yuan (US$9,788), was sentenced to three years and three months for fraud yesterday at the Pudong New Area People’s Court.
The man surnamed Zheng, 29, opened an online travel agency via the e-commerce giant Taobao in March and sold the fake tickets to unsuspecting buyers.
Zheng was detained in June and arrested in August. He told the court his crime followed stock market losses.
