Fast uptake for city race

FUN runners were quick off the mark yesterday, grabbing within 10 minutes all the places for what promises to be a colorful race next month.
Registration opened for the Color Run at 9am on the event’s official website. However, by 9:10am, the site put up a notice saying registration was full.
The 5-kilometer fun run will be held at the Oriental Sports Center in the Pudong New Area on September 27.
Organizers said several thousand runners will take part. The entrance fees ranges from 168 yuan (US$27) to 208 yuan.
Competitors are required to wear white and instead of being timed will be sprayed with a different color of powder at every kilometer.
Starting and finishing in Oriental Sports Center, the race also features surrounding streets.
Organizers say they hope the Color Run will become an annual event in the city.
