Finance professor dies at 68

XIE Baisan, a former professor at Fudan University, died at the age of 68 in Shanghai yesterday. Xie, a finance and securities expert and professor at Fudan University’s School of Management, died of cancer at Xinhua Hospital at 2:50am, according to thepaper.cn. Liu Shiyu, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, said: “Professor Xie always closely followed the policies of the commission and voiced his sincere criticism many times, which is precious for us.” Xie graduated from South China Normal University, and served as director of Fudan University’s Finance and Capital Market Research Center.
