A man was ordered to pay 203,000 yuan (US$31,000) compensation to his neighbor, who was forced to jump out his third-floor window when a fire started next door, the Pudong New Area People’s Court said. The blaze broke out in December 2013 at the home of the resident, surnamed Zhang, due to faulty wiring and spread to the front door of his neighbor, Zhu.
