Fire in well

A BLAZE broke out in a well that was being drilled in the village of Luhua in Chongming Island on Sunday, fire officials said yesterday. It is believed it was caused by gas escaping from the hole, which was being dug at an aquaculture farm. The blaze was still burning, but under control yesterday, and an investigation is under way.
