Firefighters rescue man
A 92-YEAR-OLD man, who was suffering from dementia and got stuck in a gap between two walls of a nursing home in Jinshan District, was rescued by fire fighters at 8:30pm on Monday. The width of the gap between the buildings was about 20 to 30 centimeters and the walls were 2 meters high.
Two firefighters first managed to get into the gaps to comfort him, while another group of firefighters used safety ropes to move him out. The elderly person was pulled up in 30 minutes. He needed two stitches on his head and suffered bruises on his knees. The nursing home said the man climbed out of a small window in bathroom as he thought his late wife was over there.
