SALES of fireworks in authorized stores fell by a third in 2014 as a result of the public’s better safety and environmental awareness, Li Huijing, chief engineer of the city's fire bureau, said yesterday.
Meanwhile, seven new fire stations will open in rural areas this year, the largest of which will be located close to Disneyland and equipped with 11 fire engines and 80 firefighters, Li said. The fire station’s appearance will be in keeping with the theme park’s style, the firefighter said.
