Flyer furor on Metro
METRO officials are appealing to the public to help keep the network’s trains and stations free of promotional leaflets. Distributing flyers on subway trains and stations is a breach of Metro traffic management regulations, officials said. Netizens have also complained about the piles of handouts that litter trains, especially on lines 3, 7, 9 and 11. The majority of them feature advertisements for property developments served by the subway, officials said. Passengers are encouraged to contact Metro staff or the police if they see anyone handing out leaflets. Alternatively, they can call the Metro service hotline on 64370000.
