Foreign lawyers visit

A 40-member delegation from the Japanese No. 1 Tokyo Bar Association visited the Shanghai Bar Association over the weekend to discuss food security laws and consumer protection with local lawyers. It is one of the biggest lawyers' delegations which have visited Shanghai, the city's bar association said. Also in the same period, the Law Society of England and Wales, the largest bar association in the United Kingdom, exchanged views on anti-trust laws with local counterparts.

So far, the local bar association has signed cooperative agreement with more than 10 overseas law societies. Every year the association sends a group of lawyers to study abroad so as to improve the service level and invites more overseas delegations to the city to learn more about the Chinese laws and society.
