Foreigners in decline

THE number of people from overseas, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, with residence visas for Shanghai in the first quarter fell 2 percent from last year to 255,000, officials said yesterday. Of the total, 170,000 were non-Chinese who accounted for 25 percent of all foreigners in China.
