Former district Party chief investigated for corruption

SHANGHAI prosecutors have begun an investigation into Jiang Xiefu, a former district Party chief and lawmaker, for alleged graft, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate said yesterday.

Jiang was Party chief of Baoshan District and a member of the standing committee of the city’s people’s congress. He has been placed under compulsory measures, according to the SPP, though it did not specify what measures had been taken. The measures can include summons by force, detention or arrest.
