Friday is a good day to sightsee

HALF-PRICED admission is being offered on Friday at 75 scenic spots and museums in the city to celebrate National Tourism Day.

The city government said yesterday the list included popular spots like Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower’s Top of Shanghai Exhibition Hall, and Shanghai Wild Animal Park.

Usually tickets for these venues cost 180 yuan (US$26.12) for the first two and 130 yuan for the animal park.

Shanghai Happy Valley will also provide half-price discounts for adults from Friday through Sunday. A regular ticket is 230 yuan.

Some other venues will offer discounts above 50 percent or even free admission. Several museums, such as Shanghai Museum of Arts and Crafts, will be free of charge on Friday.
