FORTY-SEVEN people were detained by police in Qingpu District for allegedly gambling and offering gambling services. More than 700,000 yuan (US$107,674) was seized at the scene, Qingpu police said.
Sixteen of them were underground casino staffers who face criminal charges and the other 31 were gamblers who received administrative detentions.
