Girl's beating becomes widely seen on Internet
THREE girls who attend a local engineering school have been ordered to pay more than 3,000 yuan (US$439) to a schoolmate for beating her and putting the fight video on the Internet, Minhang District People's Court said yesterday.
One of the three students, identified as Li, got into a fight with the victim surnamed Jia to compete for a boyfriend while the other two defendants recorded the fight with cell phones and disseminated the video, the court ruled.
On April 16, 2009, Li, who thought Jia had grabbed her boyfriend, asked to have a talk with Jia in the lady's bathroom. As the talk turned into a fight, two onlooking students, identified as Pan and Wen, used their mobile phones to record it.
