Grandfather detained in stabbing death of grandson, 6

A GRANDFATHER has been detained after stabbing his 6-year-old grandson to death with a kitchen knife over small disputes, police in the Pudong New Area said today.
The boy’s father reported his son’s death to police after he got home at 6:39pm on Wednesday. Police suspected the boy’s grandfather, surnamed Shi.
Neighbors said Shi moved into the Pudong residential complex several months ago to take care of his grandson.
A property staffer said according to the surveillance video, Shi left the complex at about 3pm that day and never came back.
Shi was caught at 3am today in Pudong and police said he admitted killing the boy with a kitchen knife.
