Green, stinky pool investigated

AN unnamed company has been ordered to explain what is in a two-meter deep pool of green and stinking liquid, the city’s work safety watchdog said yesterday.
The facility is on Linsheng Road of suburban Jinshan District.
According to Shanghai Television Station, there were about six big tanks and three vehicles for hazardous chemical transportation in the yard, as well as the open pool about two meters deep, containing a green liquid with a sharp smell.
An unidentified worker in the facility said the place was used to store chemicals such as sodium hydroxide and diesel used by local chemical plants, the report said.
Investigations are continuing.
