Grey building painters fined

ZHONGJIN Stock Investment Management Co has been fined 500,000 yuan (US$80,000) for illegally painting a century-old building in the Bund area an unsightly shade of grey, the Huangpu District government said yesterday. The company, which occupied No. 102 Guangdong Road, was also asked to meet the cost of the work to remove the paint, which will be carried out by Shanghai Construction Decoration Group.
