Handy tool for lawyers

AN online platform that allows lawyers to store documents, pay legal fees and communicate with judges went into full operation yesterday, the Shanghai Higher People’s Court said.
The site — http://passport.lawyers.org.cn/gy/signin.jsp — is the first of its kind in the country and allows lawyers to do a lot of the work involved in filing cases without having to leave their offices. It can also be used to show when they are busy and by courts to set trial dates. Legal professionals will also be able to use the platform to access documents relating to old and current cases. Moreover, via the system, lawyers and judges will be able to contact and appraise each other online.
