Heart attack drama on flight
A CHINA Southern Airlines flight from Shanghai to northeast China had to make an emergency landing after a passenger suffered a suspected heart attack, the airline said yesterday.
Flight CZ6506 took off from Pudong International Airport at shortly after 1pm on Sunday, heading for Shenyang in Liaoning Province.
But it diverted to Qingdao in east Shandong Province after a 63-year-old passenger, surnamed Wang, complained of chest pains during the flight.
He said he had rushed to the boarding gate after it was changed.
Wang was rushed to hospital in Qingdao and recovered soon afterward, said China Southern.
After refueling, the aircraft took off again and reached its destination at 4:10pm, just 40 minutes behind schedule, the airline said.
