Heat stroke fears as mercury keeps climbing
ONE person has died from heat stroke this summer and numerous others have been treated for the condition, the city’s health authorities said yesterday.
Seniors and people working outside are the most vulnerable to heat stroke, the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention said yesterday.
More cases are expected as the heat wave continues. The number of heat stroke cases in Shanghai in 2013 far exceeded the average because the city experienced 15 high-temperature days in a row, the center said.
