Horse carnival to raise charity funds
THE Shanghai Charity Foundation will organize a non-profit equestrian carnival in Pinghu, Zhejiang Province, on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival on May 28.
The carnival will include horse racing and polo. Six polo teams from Germany, Italy, Argentina and China will take part. Other equestrian events will also be held, said the foundation yesterday.
The proceeds from ticket sales will go to support children suffering from cerebral palsy, operations for children with congenital heart disease and helping earthquake survivors in Sichuan Province.
The organizers of the event donated 992,000 yuan (US$145,150) to the foundation yesterday.
To book tickets, which cost 1,980 yuan and 1,680 yuan, you can call the event's booking lines (5105-3378 or 6258-4343).
