Hunting tip-off raised
New regulations tackling illegal bird hunting in Shanghai Chongming Dongtan National Nature Reserve on Chongming Island raise the top reward for reporting illegal acts from 800 yuan (US$131) to 1,500 yuan, local environment authorities said yesterday. Other illegal acts in the reserve include felling trees, grazing animals, fishing, picking herbs, reclaiming farmland, burning grass, mining, quarrying and dredging without authorization.
