Illegal buildings gone

THE largest illegal structure — a row of warehouses — in Heqing Town in the Pudong New Area has been demolished, local authorities said yesterday. The demolition was part of an environmental cleanup campaign launched by the district government, officials said. The warehouses, which covered a combined area of 300,000 square meters, were illegally erected in 2007.
