SHANGHAI Intellectual Property Court heard 1,641 cases concerning intellectual property rights last year, most relating to copyright, patent rights and computer software, a white paper issued by the court said. They included 823 civil cases of first instance, 802 of second instance, one retrial of a civil case, 14 cases involving pretrial injunction and pretrial property preservation, and one administrative case. Nearly 300 cases involving litigants from foreign countries, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were accepted last year, accounting for 16.13 percent of all cases accepted.
