Jail for blackmailing

A MAN surnamed Sun was sentenced to two years and five months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan (US$3,226) for blackmailing his former girlfriend, the People’s Court in Qingpu District said yesterday. The court said Sun blackmailed his ex-lover, surnamed Wang, with their sex tapes and forced her to pay 100,000 yuan. Sun was caught when Wang, who had informed the police, met him with the money in December last year. Wang said she met Sun on WeChat but broke up with him after few months.
