Jail for smuggling

A 29-YEAR-OLD Hong Kong resident, who was caught with 10 kilograms of cocaine at Pudong International Airport, was sentenced to 15 years in jail for drug smuggling, the Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People’s Court said yesterday. The court said the man, whose name was not revealed, owed a bank HK$170,000. He took a job from a Brazilian man to carry a bag into China and was promised HK$70,000 in return. The Brazilian told him the bag contained diamonds and he never knew it was stuffed with drugs.
