AN unlicensed clothing company owner who refused to pay his 40 employees was jailed for a year and fined 20,000 yuan, Baoshan District People’s Court said. According to prosecutors, the man, who set up the company in early 2014 without applying for a business license, refused to pay his employees from August 2014 because he was “short of money.” After staff complained to the authorities, he fled and changed his phone number.
