A WOMAN who poured gasoline over her lover and set him on fire was jailed for seven years for intentional arson, Songjiang District People’s Court said yesterday. The victim, surnamed Gong, suffered more than 50 percent burns.
Gong had an affair with the woman, surnamed Wu, for four years before offering her 400,000 yuan (US$64,440) compensation when they broke up, the court heard. However, Wu felt she was cheated after learning that Gong had paid another mistress 1 million yuan compensation and set him ablaze.
