Jogger hit by car

POLICE yesterday detained a hit-and-run driver who knocked down a 25-year-old woman jogger near Century Park on Friday night.
The incident happened about 7:45pm when the 38-year-old man, surnamed Zhang, hit the woman with his Volkswagen car at the intersection of Huamu Road and Haitong Road. He immediately fled the scene.
Surveillance cameras showed the woman was running a red light.
Police also warned people to be wary of traffic while jogging at night. Runners are advised to wear high-visibility clothing and stick to routes they know well, they said.
