Joy airline fined

CHINA’S civil aviation regulator yesterday fined the Joy General Aviation 29,000 yuan (US$4,170) for illegally appointing an unqualified pilot as its captain and trainer.

The pilot, Wang Junzheng, failed to finish the required training courses stipulated by the regulator but was still appointed by the airline, the regulator said. In July, a Joy seaplane crashed in Jinshan Distict, killing five people.
