A MAN who kidnapped a 5-year-old boy for ransom to pay his debts was sentenced for 7 years in jail, the Jiading District People’s Court said yesterday. The man, surnamed Wang, was a gambling addict. He owed more than 100,000 yuan in debts and targeted a wealthy family in the hope of easy money. But police caught up with him and the boy was saved in time.
