Lake set to draw 3,000 runners

DISHUI Lake in Pudong will provide the setting for a 16-kilometer fun run on March 23.
Organized by the government of the Nanhui area, in which the lake is situated, the event is set to attract up to 3,000 participants.
As well as the main race, which comprises two laps of the lake, a shorter contest will be held for those able to manage just one lap, the organizers said. The top three finishers in each race will win a prize.
About a third of the runners are likely to be foreigners, the organizers said.
People can apply to run at www.nhxcrun.com. The entrance fee is 50 yuan (US$8.25) and applications must be received before March 10.
The organizers said they hope the run will become an annual event.
Dishui Lake is in Lingang New City and can be reached via Metro Line 16.
