Late start for holidays
This year’s Spring Festival holiday will begin on January 31 till February 6, the city government said yesterday. Different to previous years, the first holiday starts on the first day of the Chinese Lunar Year rather than the Chinese New Year Eve when family members usually gather for a reunion dinner. This year’s New Year Eve falls on January 30. Some workers said their bosses will give them a half-day off on the New Year Eve while others said they would ask for a leave for the reunion dinner.
