Local nurse goes on trial for murder
A NURSE accused of killing her fiance by injecting him with insulin stood trial for murder last month, the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court revealed yesterday.
The 29-year-old defendant, who was formerly employed at the Shanghai No. 6 Hospital, went before the judge on January 27, a court official said.
The person declined to provide any further details about the case, but told Shanghai Daily that a verdict had yet to be reached.
The defendant’s boyfriend died last year from respiratory failure and problems associated with his central nervous system, local media reported at the time.
His fiancee was detained by police on suspicion of causing his death by injecting him with insulin after giving him a sleeping draught.
She was also reported to have attempted suicide.
