Lottery thief detained

A 32-year-old migrant worker was yesterday sentenced to four months’ detention for stealing 1,100 yuan (US$177) in cash and lottery tickets from nine vendors. The man, surnamed Shen, committed the crimes on December 20 after repeatedly losing money on the lottery. He was caught in February, prosecutors in Jinshan District said.
