Lotus Riverside owners seek new management

THE developer of the collapsed building in Minhang's Lotus Riverside complex is asking apartment owners whether they want to have a different real estate management company.

If more than two-thirds apartment owners agree, the original Xunmei Management Company will be replaced with Wanke Management Company, Shanghai Meidu Real Estate Co said, according to the report of Oriental Morning Post.

An unfinished 13-story building, part of the Lotus Riverside complex of apartments, collapsed on June 27, killing a worker. A total of 489 of the estate's 629 apartments in the 11 buildings had been sold by the time of the collapse.

Real estate giant Wanke took over further construction, sales and refunds involved in the collapse at the end of July. Home owners suggested Wanke's management company should also run the complex.

Meidu Company sent letters to home owners yesterday and seeks a response by the end of the month.
