Lujiazui area worst for Didi car-hailing
LUJIAZUI has replaced Jing’an Temple as the most difficult area in the city for users of the car-hailing app Didi to get a ride, the company said in its latest big data report yesterday.
The data was collected in the first quarter of this year from the application’s users and drivers, the report, co-produced by Didi and CBNData, said.
The conclusion was based on the number of orders received divided by the number of successful pickups.
The most difficult areas to get picked up were Lujiazui and places close to Shanghai Television Station, which is along Nanjing Road W. and Huaihai Road.
Jing’an Temple, the Bund and Yuyuan Garden topped the list in last year’s report, but the company did not explain what caused the change.
By examining its registered drivers’ GPS data, the company found that Shanghai has the worst traffic congestion in the Yangtze River region, and that the elevated highways, including Yixian Road Elevated Highway and the Inner Ring Road, are the most congested roads in the city.
