XUJIAHUI commercial authority has announced the lucky winners of a second Mercedes Benz car and 50 gold bars won in a shopping promotion, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
The winner of the car is the holder of ticket number 001242647 who purchased home appliances at BestBuy store, the report said.
The lucky draw was the second of three in a series designed to entice shoppers to participating stores in Xujiahui area between April 24 and May 10.
Xuhui District government allocated 2 million yuan (US$292,398) for lucky draw prizes, including three Mercedes-Benz sedans and 150 gold bars valued at 4,300 yuan each.
Sales in the Xujiahui commercial district surged 13 percent compared to last year, hitting a value of 172 million yuan during the three-day May Day holiday.
The first Mercedes Benz limousine was picked up by a man surnamed Zhu from Taizhou City of Jiangsu Province on May 1. Up to yesterday, there were 28 gold bars yet to be claimed by prize winners.
The third lucky draw is scheduled for May 11 and information is available on www.sh-xjh.com.
