A 39-year-old man has been charged with robbery and attempted rape after allegedly attacking a woman near People’s Square last month, prosecutors in Huangpu District said yesterday.
The suspect, surnamed Song, is accused of stealing the woman’s iPhone and bank card after pushing her into some bushes, where he also sexually assaulted her.
