Man accused of cutting throat of ‘girlfriend’ he met on Internet
A MAN was accused of cutting the throat of a woman he met on the Internet, killing her, around 9:50pm yesterday at Xincun and Zhenhua roads in downtown Shanghai’s Putuo District. The woman was found dead on the spot and the police said they caught the suspect within 10 minutes.
The man treated the woman, 30, as his girlfriend after they met on the Internet, sources told Xinmin.cn. They argued and the man attacked the woman with an art knife, the report said.
The man ran but a motorcycle rider who witnessed the attack followed him, the report said.
Police caught the man based on information provided by the motorist. No additional information was available.
