Man charged over group blood donation
A man has been arrested for taking payment to arrange a group of people to donate blood at a health center in Qingpu District, local prosecutors said.
The 22-year-old surnamed Zhang arranged the group after responding to an online advertisement, which offered him 300 yuan (US$48) to arrange for a group of people to give blood at a health center in Qingpu.
Zhang organized more than 20 people to visit the center the following day, but was detained by police at the scene.
It is illegal in China to take money for arranging others to donate blood.
Zhang said he had no idea he was breaking the law, Qingpu prosecutors said.
