Man charged with murder

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for the murder of a homeowner while trying to burgle his property, the Fengxian District’s prosecutors office said yesterday.
The suspect, surnamed Lian, is alleged to have stabbed the victim, surnamed Chu, several times in the chest after breaking into his property on September 10.
Chu and his girlfriend, who was not named, fought back and tried to restrain the burglar, but he managed to escape. Chu died later from his injuries.
Police were able to trace the suspect as he lost his shoe while fleeing the building.
He was apprehended while trying to board a train to his hometown in north China’s Shanxi Province.
