Man detained after wife found dead in their home

AN elderly man allegedly killed his wife over a family dispute while they were at their home in Hongkou District around 6:30pm yesterday, Shanghai police said.
Police said they received a call from the couple's child saying their apartment door was locked and that no one was answering. Police officers broke into the room and found the man, surnamed Song, sitting in the living room. He had bloodstains all over him and his wife, surnamed Zhang, was lying on the floor dead, police said.
Song was detained at the scene.
The couple had a fight over property, xinmin.cn reported.
