Man gets 12-year sentence for robbing masseuses
A Shanghai man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for doping and robbing three masseuses, the Pudong New Area People's Court said today.
Prosecutors said the 29-year-old convict surnamed Cen took a masseuse surnamed Ye to a KTV club on March 5 and persuaded her to drink a glass of wine containing sleeping pills.
After Ye fell asleep, Cen took her iPhone and a platinum necklace with a diamond pendant and fled. The stolen items were worth about 23,000 yuan (US$3,619), prosecutors said.
Chen was caught a week later and confessed that he used the same trick to rob two other masseuses last December, the court heard.
